Sport in KS1

Pupils in KS1 enjoy two hours of PE and an hour of games lessons each week. During PE, the focus for EYFS and KS1 is on fundamental skills of balance, co-ordination, ball skills and learning through play and exploration.

Our EYFS and KS1 pupils enjoy lessons in gymnastics, dance, ball skills, playground games, athletics and swimming.

Sport in KS2

As pupils move into KS2, whilst continuing to focus on the fundamentals as listed above, we move towards focusing on competitive play within a wide variety of individual and team sports.  KS2 pupils enjoy an hour of PE and 1½ hours of games lessons per week.

Our KS2 pupils enjoy lessons in gymnastics, badminton, athletics, basketball, netball, fitness, football, swimming, tag rugby and tennis.

Supporting Health & Fitness

Our curriculum provides opportunities for our youngest pupils to become physically, emotionally and socially confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We aim to give the pupils a motivating and memorable PE journey beyond the national curriculum standards.
