David Bown, Headmaster

It is with incredible sadness that we report that our Headmaster, David Bown has died after a car struck him early on the evening of Friday 22nd February whilst he was out walking in the Brecon Beacons with his teenage son. David 50, who was originally from Wales, had returned to Cardiff to watch this weekend’s rugby international.

Our whole school community has been deeply shocked and saddened at this tragic news. David was a dynamic and visionary headmaster and was immensely popular with the children, the parents and his colleagues. We are all working hard to support each other through this difficult time.

David’s wife and teenage son request that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with their devastating loss.

A book of condolence will be in the school coffee shop from tomorrow and we would encourage any thoughts or messages of condolence to be directed there. The coffee shop will also be open between 9am and 11am on Saturday morning (2nd March) for anyone wishing to come in at that time.
