Drama pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11 visited Harlow Playhouse on Wednesday evening to see a new adaptation of Sophocles’ tragedy ‘Antigone’. The play was reimagined in a dystopian landscape, where fate is written in code and where drones flock across the skies. Brought to life by innovative theatre company, Actors of Dionysus, the production combined bold ideas with passionate and visceral physical theatre.
On Wednesday after school, all pupils participating on the trip were involved in a two hour practical theatre workshop run by Miss Agrotis and Mrs Bradford to prepare them for the theatre trip. The workshop enhanced understanding of the genre of Greek tragedy.
