The Year 8 rounders team has had an excellent season. The team played a mixture of league and friendly matches and remained unbeaten throughout, demonstrating some fantastic competitive and skilful performances.
The team has worked well together, particularly in fielding. The girls have communicated well and played additional roles between them when needed. Bowler, Saffron, has stayed calm throughout and has been consistent in this role, luckily not giving away too many half rounders for inaccurate bowling. Backstop, Freya, has caught numerous players out and has worked hard to get her accurate throw to the vital second post. Post fielders Claudia, Ellie and Poppy have had quick reactions to stump out the opposition as they run to the posts. Ellie and Poppy have also had some great catches, getting players out. Deep fielders, Keara, Olivia, Amy, Casey, Georgia and Annice have communicated well from the back, helping to call decisions and make accurate long throws back to the pitch area. A particular well done goes to Keara for her directing of the team and strong back up at second post and to Ellie for being voted player of the match on numerous occasions by the opposition. Overall, this season has seen an excellent team effort and outstanding performances throughout. The PE staff and school are very proud of you all. Well done girls!
