Mr D Wilson (Chairman)

Derek Wilson has been on the Board of St Nicholas for 28 years and Chairman for the past 9 years. All of his 3 children attended the school. He is a portfolio Non-Executive Director of Companies, President of Bonne Maman, immediate past president of the International Sales and Marketing Association, a board member of the Sales Agency Commission of the Grocery Manufacturers of America, on the Council of the Institute of Directors and a qualified Executive Coach. He was awarded L'Ordre National du Merite by President Mitterand of France in 1995.

 

Mr M Wade

Michael Wade is a Chartered Accountant who qualified in Australia and has spent the last 25 years in the UK. His main experience is within the television and new media sectors. He has had various finance directorships of television companies – including being the start-up finance director at Nickelodeon UK. He has two children who are in the senior section of the school.

Mr S Fish

Simon Fish joined the Board in 2002. A former pupil (8 years, 1967-1975) is a current parent whose twin girls have attended the Saint Nicholas since 1999. He has run his own business from Hatfield Heath for the past 26 years. Simon’s hobbies include: Motor racing in sports prototype, travelling, home and family involvement, keeping fit and charity work.

 

Mr S Penney

Simon Penney joined the Board in 2007. He has two children at the school; one in the Juniors and another in the Seniors, both of whom joined Saint Nicholas in their reception year. Simon has a keen interest in the science and mathematics curriculum, having obtained university degrees in both subjects. He works in the City for a specialty insurance and reinsurance company and has over 15 years risk management experience in the financial sector working for top tier banks and advisory firms. In his spare time, Simon enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving and watching cricket.

Dr J Morgan OBE

Jane Morgan joined the Board in 2004 and is now Governor with lead responsibility for Health and Safety and Child Protection. However as parent of a past pupil her involvement with the school dates back to the 1980s. She was formerly a Consultant Physician specialising in Infectious Diseases. The latter part of her career was spent at the Department of Health advising on, developing and implementing national policies for the control of infectious diseases, working closely with other European countries and the World Health Organisation. Her OBE was awarded for her services to public health.

 

Mrs D Spellman

Diana Spellman joined the board in November 2010. Diana is Founder and Managing Director of a procurement sourcing agent and purchasing Management Company based in the City of London in its 15th year of trading. Diana is secretary of the Hatfield Heath branch of the Saffron Walden Constituency of the Conservative Party. All three of her children have attended Saint Nicholas at primary schooling age. Diana also sat on the health committee at Felsted School which achieved the School’s Nutrition Award during her term and also assisted in preparation for the Ofsted inspectorate to award a gold standard for boarding through the Parents’ Consultative Committee at Felsted. Diana is a member of the 1806 group at Haileybury School.

Mrs J Templeton Knight

Jane Templeton Knightis a retired solicitor and Was a partner at two City firms. She now gives legal advice at on a voluntary basis at a number of women’s rights centres. Jane is on the Committee for Matching Pre School in Matching Tye where she has responsibility for staff liaison and admissions. She is a member of the Governors’ marketing and HR sub committees and is also the Governor responsible for EYFS.

 

Mr M Anderson

Mark Anderson joined the board in 2011. He is the chair of the Academic Committee. Mark is a Deputy Headteacher at Northwood School, an 11-18 comprehensive in London. He has worked in schools in Hertfordshire and London. He was trained as an English teacher. Mark lives with his family in Sawbridgeworth.
